It can sound grossly pretentious to say “advertising is art” when advertising is really commerce. But what about when that advertising is actually in an art museum? This pair of films (also pretentious to call commercials “films”) was inducted into The Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection of its Dept. of Film and Media, for copywriting. I have yet to visit these films at MoMA and wonder how they’re framed.
